"My point is, all that shite about family and tradition stopped mattering as soon as I couldn't help but be someone they didn't want me to be." Teige untangled the string and handed it to Yoshi. "So I don't see why keeping this secret family recipe a secret should matter either. I'd rather share it with someone who can use it. So we'll substitute the mother,  daughter, and matriarch with you and me and...something else, I suppose."

"Ah," Yoshi said shyly. She had looped the string around her fingers and was carefully reproducing the patterns Teige had made with it. "If you're sure...thank you for teaching me."

"Of course I'm sure!" Teige said, his usual cheerfulness reappearing without a hitch. "And wouldn't I be a bastard keeping such a useful charm to myself!"

He fell into a thoughtful silence for a moment, before saying, "...In fact, I bet a lot of people would find this charm useful."

Yoshi glanced up, part of the string held between her teeth. "Er, I'm sure..." she agreed. "Getting one's clothes charmed professionally is fairly pricey." She saw a sparkle in Teige's eye, then. "...What are you thinking?"

"You ever heard of a zine?" Teige wanted to know, grinning.
