"It's rude to eavesdrop, you know," Shinobu said haughtily. "I ought to be able to have a private conversation with my--" she paused, her ears twitching, "daughter without supervision."
Yoshi rolled her eyes patiently. Liya muttered, "We just wanted t'make sure you din't say anythin' too mea--"
"Actually," Vlad said, with a fixed smile, "We were waiting for Yoshi. She's got a doctor appointment in a little bit. In Enodia. That I'm taking her to."
Shinobu looked back and forth between Yoshi (who didn't make eye contact) and Vlad. "N-now?? Today? Why?"
"Well I--" Yoshi jammed her hands in her jacket pockets, still looking away, "I-I want to start, um, transitioning. And I need a doctor to...help me."
"Eh??! Aren't you rushing into this a bit??" Shinobu demanded. Vlad waved a hand.
"Aw, don't say that, Boss, I've been looking for this doctor for months."
Liya nudged Yoshi with her elbow, and they exchanged a smile. Vlad added, "Do you want to come along?"
"Of course I do!" Shinobu retorted.
"I thought you would," Vlad said with a shrug. "So I got us an escort."
