Teige just stood for a moment, staring up into the fog. His bear shape was not incredibly solid to begin with, but as he lowered his head, great teeth gritted, and put his paws over his face, he dematerialized further.

Minnie had one arm around Abi, and had removed her glasses, looking exhausted. Finally she spoke up, addressing Parker, who still stood unmovingly, gazing into the morning.

"...We should figure out what to do next," Minnie said very softly. Parker stirred, and that caused something in the bag in her hands to rattle gently. Unthinkingly, she opened the bag. "We should," Minnie continued, "We should keep moving. Maybe it's safer that way."

The thing rattled again as Parker rooted past the red jacket that had been stuffed into the bag, past the radio. Finally she withdrew a pill bottle with her name on it, and her pills inside.

"Oh, hon," she whispered, looking at it.

[And that's the end of chapter 5! Real talk: I wasn't planning for this to coincide with real life the way that it has. If it bums you out further (it's bumming me out, and I made this damn thing) I hope you'll trust me to bring things back around in the story again to something somewhat more positive. We will be leaving Hawk and Teige for a little bit next chapter, but the two story threads--Liya's and Hawk's--will start to collide somewhat then, and chapter 6 is a little shorter than this one was.

So next week I will be updating with some sketches; the week after that, I'm not sure, possibly some fanart. For a couple weeks in December I hope to have some guest art to show off, and after that we'll be jumping straight into chapter 6. In the meantime, I have been streaming with some regularity on Picarto, so if you'd like to watch me drawing the early pages of chapter 6 and some other things, that's a good space to watch.
