The firelight had shrunk down into the embers that were left glowing in the dirt now. It went terribly dark for a long moment, and then their eyes adjusted to the moonlight. They looked up, quietly, at the sky overhead, a void stuffed with a billion stars and the glowing gases of the galaxy.
The radio mumbled away in the darkness about war.
Teige spoke, reluctantly. "I don't wanna sound too quick t'defend them, if murderers is what they are," he said slowly, and then turned his headlamp eyes on Hawk. "But the fact o'the matter is, there's a whole lotta people out there whoselives�depend on the Order being a force of good in the world."
