Hawk lunged, and missed, as Aries simply sprang backwards out of the way of his taloned hand. They only came within a couple feet of each other, but the distance was close enough that for that instant the ghostly energy arcing between them began to grow more opaque, and the shape of several skull-like heads became more clear around Hawk's head and shoulders, looking where he was--after Aries.

The energy faded, though, as the distance between them increased again, and Aries landed next to the red sedan, skidding somewhat in the dirt. Hawk barreled after him, but Aries easily got out of the way, and Hawk slammed injured-shoulder-first into the side of the sedan instead, dragging his oversized taloned arm.

Light on his feet, Aries changed direction, and shot towards Numair. He leapt past Yoshi and Vlad, who didn't react in time to do anything other than turn to look--

Numair threw his arms up in front of his face, and instantly a sphere of translucent greenish light sprang into existence around him. Aries came down hard on it feet first; the force of the impact drew a loud ringing noise out of the barrier, but it held.
