"Yeah." Liya shrugged. "I figgured it wouldn't hurt to ask."

"So you...you just did it," Yoshi said blankly. She slipped the ring onto her left middle finger, where it fit perfectly.

"Yep! He was pretty nice about it. Said he has a soft spot for you." Liya watched Yoshi stare down at the ring, and suddenly looked a bit anxious. "Um...do you like it?"

In answer, Yoshi suddenly flung her arms around Liya, hugging her tightly. "I love it," she assured her, and added, "I...I don't know how to thank you."

"Um," Liya mumbled into her shoulder, face flushed bright red. "This is good. I like this."

They parted after a moment. Yoshi seemed unable to stop smiling; Liya squirmed with a sudden bashfulness.

"Um...uh...great!" she stammered, and stepped back. "Well I should go meet Helly, um...But you know, you um--" she seemed to suddenly think the better of whatever she was about to say and mumbled, "Never mind. I'll see you later!"

She started to bolt, but paused when Yoshi called after her.

"W-wait!" Yoshi also seemed to struggle with saying, or not saying, something, but settled for, "You--you are going to meet me at the Hub after my appointment today, right??"
