Milou whistled tunelessly, retrieving a leather apron from a hook by the low doorway, while Liya fidgeted silently for a moment. Finally, she said, nonchalantly, "Hey, Milou?"
"Hmm?" Milou hummed, turning to look at her. She turned the ring over in her fingers.
"There's something I been wonderin' about ever since we talked about how I found the old throne room."
"Oh? And what is that?"
"Where does the Cynn...live? Or, work, or whatever?"
"Ah!!!" Milou exclaimed, startling Liya. "It is strange you ask now. I just saw that place for the first time, and I have worked here for 80 years! And him, I had only ever seen from a distance before."
Liya blinked at them. "...Whoa," she said, simply.
"Strange, yes?" Milou mused. "Anyway, he has quarters on the topmost floor, in the northeast corner. They overlook the old tree-garden. The whole floor is empty and dark, but for the two or three rooms he seems to use. It is a bit depressing, actually," they admitted, gathering their hair up to tie it back.
