Numair was brought out of his thoughts by Hawk offering him a hand.
"Look," he said, "I know I ain't told you much about where I been, but you can see some of what it left me with, yeah? How could I think you're pathetic, bein' where I've been? An' besides," he added, as Numair took the offered hand and allowed Hawk to draw him a little closer, "I ain't got much more experience with any a' this than you do."
"No?" Numair said, surprised.
"Huh-uh." Hawk kissed Numair's fingers lightly. "So we can fumble through this together, yeah?"
Numair smiled a little. "Well I suppose we'll simply have to, won't we?"
Hawk returned the smile. "That's the spirit."
He tugged Numair forward then, pulling him into an embrace, which Numair allowed. "Now, what d'ya need me to do, touch you 'til you're used to it? Sounds like a tough job," Hawk teased, and put his lips against Numair's collarbone. Numair laughed, his chin in Hawk's hair and his hands linking at the back of Hawk's neck. "But I think I'm up to the challenge."
